the way of the tarot
I have been fascinated by the tarot since my late teens. After studying its deep symbolism and meaning in detail for many years, i felt equipped with enough knowledge to finally create one of my own. Over the course of more than two years i worked on each of the 78 cards of the deck, then subsequently wrote the accompanying guidebook.
the publisher
U.S. Games Systems, Inc. (USGS) is a leading publisher of playing cards, tarot cards, and games located in Stamford, Connecticut. Founded in 1968 by Stuart R. Kaplan, it has published hundreds of different card sets, and about 20 new titles are released annually. The company’s product line includes children’s card games, museum products, educational cards, motivational cards, tarot cards, and fortune telling decks.
As i was looking for a publisher, it was entirely clear forme that they would be my first choice. And luckily, after sending in my preview, they inquired to publish my deck.
The cards
a classic tarot deck consists of 78 cards, 22 cards of the major arcana and 26 cards of the minor arcana. here is a selection of some of the cards. i spent the project meticulously researching the origin and symbolism of each card, then reintepreting it in my own visual language.
the published deck
the cards are produced with deluxe quality materials: 78 silver-edged tarot cards with durable, high-quality card stock and a sturdy two-piece box designed for longevity and elegant storage.
After having studied the tarot for many years, i finally felt ready to create my own. All of the cards plus an instruction booklet were entirely created by me and then subscequently published by US Games Inc. The deck is available internationally.
